Procedure. Insert the flat screwdriver into the hole on the side of the key fob. Twist the flat screwdriver to pop out the cover on the battery. Slide the battery to the side and insert a pick tool to pop out the key fob’s battery. Slide the new battery into the key fob and push it in to lock it in its place.

I figured that the battery from the old remote was just old and on its last legs (even though its never been used), so I went ahead and purchased an 8 pack of brand new batteries. Problem gone. Then If you have a volt meter try connecting it to the battery and see what the voltage is without turning the key. It should be no less than 12 volts without the engine running. When you try to start it the voltage shouldn't drop much with a good, new, battery. If it drops considerably then it is either flat or a duffer.
