The lens hood Nikon supply with the lens (HB-97) is made from plastic. The NiSi lens hood has the same flower shaped design and identical dimensions as the Nikon HB-97 lens hood so users can still use the large Nikon LC-K104 cap with it.

Stopped down, the Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G shows better overall performance across the frame. Let’s take a look at the two lenses at 24mm: The Nikon 16-35mm f/4G VR improves significantly at 24mm in the center, but at the expense of mid-frame and corner performance, whereas the 14-24mm f/2.8G also sees a pretty drastic drop in overall sharpness. Nikon Z7, Nikkor Z 14-30mm f/4 S @30mm, 1/2000sec at f/4 ISO 64. Sharpness at 30mm isn’t terrible, but users can expect a perceptible drop in sharpness when it’s used wide open at the long end. If your shooting situation doesn’t demand that you shoot wide-open, it’s well worth stopping the lens down to f/5.6 to locate its sweet spot. MhSHD67.
